Description:
A half-length depiction of the seated Mother of God in a blue robe. The infant Christ stands on her knee and is supported by her. He looks out at the viewer while eating a grape. The Virgin also looks at the viewer and her long reddish blond hair is covered by an almost invisible veil. [Görres, cda 2015]

            An underdrawing is not readily visible. However, very fine, thin lines (dry drawing implement?) are visible on the infant Christ’s left foot, around his eyes and in the Virgin’s face.
