Description:
A portrait of Sibylle von Cleve as a bride painted on the occasion of her engagement to the Prince-Elector Johann Friedrich of Saxony. She is wearing a cross on a chain around her neck, as well as a triple rowed large linked chain. Her red robe is decorated with brocade bands and is finished around the neck with pleated white material and pearl trimming. She wears her hair loose and has a woven bridal wreath with a single feather on her head. [Görres, cda 2016]

- 1827 auctioned from the collection of H. W. Campe, a salesman from Leipzig
- 1851 in the possession of Chr. Schuchardts, Weimar, then in ducal possession
- 1852 donated to the museum collection by Maria Pawlowna (Vermehrungsbuch, 167)
