    - an underdrawing is not so clearly visible as on the pendant piece (DE_SWK_6553), however occasional fine lines can be observed (particularly in the hands and the nose)

    - dry drawing material, dark chalk

    - except for the hands copied or traced underdrawing (not always clearly visible as it is frequently covered by the painted lines)
    - thin lines

    Function:
    - binding for the final painted version; the lines delineate the main contours and describe essential details and facial features; no representation of volume

    Deviations:
    - minor correction were made to forms during the painting process; small changes e. g. the hands
