On the reverse there are strips of paper with both written and printed texts, that have been covered with a brown glaze (see: Melanchthon (Dep.27 Fv Leihgabe der UEK). In the centre there is a large circle containing a five petalled flower with a heart shaped centre (the so-called Luther rose). The circle is painted.
