A full-length representation of the subject in a vertical format. Christ is positioned at the centre of a crowd of men and points to the right at the adulteress. He holds her right hand and turns to the man in armour, who already holds stones in his hands, eager to punish the sinner. A soldier at the right edge holds the adulteress by the arm. Four other men watch the event from a gallery in the upper right corner.
