Cranach the Elder depicts the Old Testament heroine in the fashion of a Saxon princess: on her head she wears a dark red velvet hat decorated with ostrich feathers, her neck and decollete are adorned with precious gold jewellery, her dress is decorated with pearls and has a wide gold brocade boarder. The bodice is laced at the front and underneath she is wearing a white blouse with elbow length sleeves tied with black laces. White gloves complete this sumptuous fashionable attire.
