The panel depicts three scenes from the Passion arranged vertically: in the upper field is a representation of the Agony in the Garden, the central one shows the Mocking of Christ, while the lower field shows Christ on the way to Calvery in a multi-figured scene. At some stage the panel was split and the depiction of Christ as the Man of Sorrows on the reverse is now an autonomous panel. Together they originally functioned as the left wing of a triptych.
