The panel depicts the angel Gabriel appearing to the virgin (who was probably depicted on the left wing) at the annunciation from the right. He is shown as a full-length figure in a white robe with a brocade cloak, standing against a gilded background. He holds a sealed letter in his left hand and makes a blessing with his right hand. The wing panel is part of a larger altarpiece, probably a triptych.
