Recto: St Anna lies in bed after childbirth and entrusts a maid in a red dress, standing at her left with her new born child. A rounded baldachin of a red material spans the bed and the bedcovers are made of gold brocade. A second maid stands at the foot of the bed and fills a bath standing on a box with water.
Verso: The panel depicts the angel Gabriel at the annunciation as a full-length figure in a white robe with a green velvet cloak and standing against a neutral dark background. He holds a glass staff in his left hand and gestures with his right hand.
The wing panel is part of a triptych, the central section of which is occupied by a sculptural group. The Virgin and Child are positioned centrally on a pedestal and are flanked by the smaller figures of St Gertrude of Neville (a distaff and a book) on the left and St Christopher on the right. These two figures like the crucifix on top of the shrine were added later. A carved coat-of-arms belonging to the donor family Isenburg/Eisenberg is attached to the pedestal. The triptych rests on a more recent predella with a representation of the Last Supper.
