The painting depicts Adam and Eve standing in front of the undergrowth. They face each other and hold the apple in their respective right hand. Adam holds a branch in his left hand and the leaves cover both figures nakedness. Behind them the serpent winds itself around the branches

In the background on the left two stags look out from the undergrowth.
