Type/Ductus:

- freehand underdrawing

- thin to somewhat broader lines (visible in the hands)

Function:

- relatively binding for the final painted version; lines probably delineate the main contours and possibly also describe essential details and facial features

Deviations:

- minor corrections were made to forms during the painting process (see hands)
