The retailed volume of wine was measured in Ohm. Ohm (from the Latin for bucket: ama) is a unit for measuring capacity and is the equivalent of c. 145 litres. It was used almost exclusively for wine. Therefore the term 'Ohmgeld' established itself for the retail sales tax on wine. The term Ohm also means bucket and it was used to calculate a 'Schankeimer', which was 67 litres in Saxony. Here the 'Schankeimer' must be applied as was done in the Wittenberg's annual treasury account books. (cf.)
There is an inventory stamp from the Lutherhalle Wittenberg (now Stiftung Luthergedenkstätten in Saxony-Anhalt) almost at the centre of the note.
