Ich, Hans von Cronach, bekenn vnd thue kunth mit diesem brieff gein meniglich, das dye gestrengen, edeln, ernvesten vnd erbern des churfursten zu Sachssen u[nd] meins g[nädig]st[en] herrn vnd seyner churf[ürstlichen] g[naden] gemeynen landschafft ausschus verordente bevelhabere zu eynnam bewilligter hilff, mir von wegen Lucassen von Cronach zu Wyttenberg, meynes lieben vaters, funfzig guld[en], als desselbigen meins vaters halben jarsold, so vom nechst[en] sanct Walp[ur]g[is] tag, bys vff Michaelis verfallen, ausgericht, vergenugt vnd bezcalt haben. Sage derhalben auf bevelig benants meynes vaters, dye herrn bevelhabere obgenant solches halben, vnd alles hyevorigen verfallen jarsolds, hiemit quit ledig vnnd loß, in crafft dys briffs ongeverde. In an essay on the Cranach related sources in the Thüringische Hauptstaatsarchiv Weimar Dagmar Blaha draws attention to the fact that from 1525 regular payments to Cranach are documented. By studying the invoices she could verify that Cranach was granted a lifetime employment fee in 1534 (Blaha 2015, p. 166 f.).
