Hercules sits on a tree trunk at the centre of the composition. The defeated lion lies at his feet. His left hand is supported by the club, that in this case looks more like a long stick. He is flanked by the two women who ask him to choose a path. He has turned towards the one on the left who is wrapped in a transparent veil and looks at him. The female figure on the right lacks even this concealment, only a fig leaf hides her vulva.
