Research History / Discussion

D. Koepplin examined the painting in November, 1967: the dress is burgundy red, the lining of the Virgin's mantle is blue and the outer side shimmers lightish brown to green (instead of the usual yellow colour) and the signature at the top right is not original, the wings are without form. He considers it to be a 17th century copy (barock highlights on the grapes)
