Research History / Discussion

The composition of this painting bears some resemblance to that of a painting with smaller dimensions in a private collection with the FR no. 131 [PRIVATE_NONE-P222]. Another version with slightly larger dimensions is now in Portland [US_PAM_69-67]; other versions or copies are known to exist, e. g. one sold at Sotheby's, London, 26. April 2007, lot 27, one in a private collection [PRIVATE_NONE-P425], one in Sandomierz, Diözesanmuseum, Inv. No. MDS-33, another in Bozen, Municipal Museum and finally one in Poznan, Nationalmuseum [PL_MNP_Mo559].
