St Catharine is shown as a three-quarter length figure, facing to her right. She is dressed in contemporary courtly attire and wears her hair in double buns. Her arms are awkwardly crossed in front of her, the left hand hold the sword of her martyrdom and the right one pointing

St Catharine is shown as a three-quarter length figure, facing to her right. She is dressed in contemporary courtly attire and wears her hair in double buns. Her arms are awkwardly crossed in front of her, the left hand hold the sword of her martyrdom and the right one pointing at the wheel and bearing the ring given to her by Christ. The hilt of the sword displays a perhaps symbolic crescent moon and an elaborate choker set with precious stones decorates her neck. A low wall and a dark curtain separate her from the expansive mountainous landscape beyond. [cda 2021]
