The female sitter is shown facing left against a green curtain, which reveals a view of a landscape at the left edge. Her black dress does not really stand out against the backdrop. However, particularly on the skirt and the sleeves elaborate brocade patterning is clearly visible on the lace

The female sitter is shown facing left against a green curtain, which reveals a view of a landscape at the left edge. Her black dress does not really stand out against the backdrop. However, particularly on the skirt and the sleeves elaborate brocade patterning is clearly visible on the lace up dress. The embroidered decoration on the pleated chest area is picked up on the white bonnet. The material used for the long neck chain is used again not only in the belt, which is decorated with portrait medallions, but also for the unusual large number of rings.
