She is wearing an elaborate brocade dress with decorative slits in the sleeves and long cuffs. Across her chest the letter ‘G’ is incorporated into a repeat pattern. Numerous heavy linked chains

The sitter is shown as a three-quarter length figure, facing to her right against a neutral black background. She is wearing an elaborate brocade dress with decorative slits in the sleeves and long cuffs. Across her chest the letter ‘G’ is incorporated into a repeat pattern. Numerous heavy linked chains adorn her neck, as well as two chokers, one set with precious stones, the other with a pendant. Her hair is pinned up beneath a golden snood visible under an ornate broad brimmed hat with various pendants dangling from its rim.
