The Virgin is shown as a half-length figure against a dark background. She faces left and over a blue dress she wears a red mantle, that also conceals her brown curls. Her head is circumscribed by a halo. In the top right corner there is a painted piece of paper, which shows among others a coat-of-arms. [Görres, cda 2014]

    • The microscopic and chemical analyses, carried out by Jana Odvárková, however, revealed that the painted paper label with the coat-of-arms was added later - the UV light exposed a transparent varnish layer which separates the individual layers of paint.
