Christ stands in front of the open tomb enveloped in his red robe. His feet rest on the stone slab that had served to seal the tomb. Christ has raised his right hand in blessing and in his left hand he holdsthe barely visible glass rod of the victory banner. His has a rayed halo is around his head. Five watchmen lie in a semi-circle around the slab and are dressed in very fanciful armour. In the background the silhouette of a town is visible on the left hand side. The rendering of the sky as well as the depiction of the sun are rather unusual.
