The Virgin is shown as a seated half-length figure against a black background. Her head is inclined to the left and she supports the infant Christ, standing on her lap with both hands. He holds a bunch of grapes in his left hand and puts one in his mouth with his right hand. A veil covers the Virgin's head, but does not hide her long blond hair. She is wearing a blue cloak with a green lining over her red robe.
