'There was an old copy of this picture in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Cited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art Catalogue of Paintings by Bryson Burroughs (1931), page 76: "ATTRIBUTED TO CRANACH THE YOUNGER" - Madonna and Child: Half-length figure of the Madonna, seated and Suckling the nude Child; she wears a blac bodice and a red mantle; two cherubs hold the black drapery which forms the background" Height: 19 3/8" Width: 13 1/2" Oil on Wood. Gift of Louis Ehrich, 1895
