Research History / Discussion

Lesser quality workshop copy after the painting in Erfurt Cathedral [DE_DSME_NONE-DSME001].

[Friedländer, Rosenberg 1979, 97, no. 134A]

Three further copies or versions are known to exist. A version with slightly smaller dimensions to the painting in Erfurt Cathedral that is now in a private collection [PRIVATE_NONE-P455] and two considerably smaller versions, one attributed to Wolfgang Krodel the Elder, which is in Schloss Eggenberg, Graz [AT_UMJ_101] and another one attributed to an anoymous artist, which is in the National Gallery in Prague [CZ_NGP_DO4566].
