Research History / Discussion

This painting is probably a copy after the version in Erfurt Cathedral [DE_DSME_NONE-DSME001]. Three further copies or versions are known to exist. A version with similar dimensions to the painting in Erfurt, now in St Joseph's Servite Convent, Innsbruck [AT_SJI_NONE-SJI001], a slightly smaller format in a private collection [PRIVATE_NONE-P455], and an even smaller version attributed to Wolfgang Krodel the Elder in Schloss Eggenberg, Graz [AT_UMJ_101].
