The main shield depicts:
- three crowned blue lions on a gold background (Dennmark)
- three golden crowns on a black background, one above two
- a lion with a halberd
- a golden dragon with a red tongue on a black background (Kingdom of Wenden) quartered by Denmark (the crowned lion), Oldenburg, Jutland (or Gotenreich) and Wenden (King of Wenden) and dated '1523'.
