Margrave Albrecht of Brandenburg-Ansbach, High Master (Hochmeister) of the Teutonic Order in Prussia, instructs Lucas Cranach to send four paintings bought by his envoy Dietrich von Schönberg (1484-1525) to Christof Bintzen (Wintz) in Berlin. The bearer of the letter was to pay Cranach the agreed sum of 23 gilders. Cartage was to be paid extra.

Am montag nach sant Veyts tag [16.06.1516] ist dem maler zw Witenberg zwgeschryben. Nach dem dir unser rath und lieber getrewer Dieterich von Schonberg vier bild abgekauft hat, ist derhalb[en] unser begern, dw wolest solche bild wol verwart gein Berlin in Cristof Bintzen hauß schick[en], der furter befelch hat, uns dieselbig[en] zwzwfertig[en] und ubersend[en], dir hiemit bey disem zeyher drey und zweintzigk guldin, wie dan der kauf fur solche bild getrof[en], wolt[en] wir dir an dem dw uns sonders gefallen thust gnediger mainung nit verhalt[en], dat[um] vt s[upra].
Vnd was dw fur furlon anschlegt, sol dir Cristoff Wintz vff dem ansuchen wider geben, dat[um] vt s[upra].

The folia from the period of the Teutonic Order belong to a regesta of letters.
The paintings referred to here can be traced back to Schönberg¿s commission from 1515 as they were mentioned in the list of tasks assigned to him on his journey. See GStA PK, XX. HA, OBA, No. 21006, fol. 29v.
