Expertise Buchner:

"Das 1526 datierte Bildnis habe ich im Original geprüft. Es ist eine charakteristische Arbeit eines unmittelbar Lucas Cranach d. Ä. nahestehenden, sächsischen Meisters, der von Friedländer - Rosenberg versuchsweise mit dem Meister des Gregorsmessen identifiziert wird. Jedoch unterscheidet sich der Maler durch seine noble, reservierte Farbigkeit vorteilhaft von dem härter und bunter malenden Meister der Gregorsmessen. Datierte Bildnisse seiner Hand von 1526, 1527, 1537 und 1543 sind bei Friedländer - Rosenberg (365 - 368) abgebildet, darunter auch das umstehend photographierte Porträt (noch mit der Handpartie, die später entfernt wurde).
