The panel is a fragment from a larger painting and shows a depiction of a landscape. A deciduous tree is the dominating feature on the left side. It is located at the edge of some water in which the forest bank is reflected. Behind a fortified town is visible. The right half of the painting is occupied by a rocky outcrop with a fortress on the top. Above the sky is filled with bluish storm clouds, while the horizon is bathed in a yellowish pink light.
