The panel shows the Virgin sitting at the centre of the composition, wearing a dress and a robe. She supports the child on her lap with her right hand and holds a bunch of grapes in her left hand. St Catherine kneels on the left, facing to the right and the infant puts a ring on her finger. Behind her St Margaret stands accompanied by a dragon. St Barbara kneels beside the Virgin on the right, and St Dorothy stands behind with a basket of flowers. A black curtain hangs from St Barbara's tower at the top left corner and is held up by a row of small angels. On the right, beyond the solitary tree, a mountainous landscape is visible in the background, and a section of St Catherine's wheel can be seen in the bottom left corner.
