Adam and Eve are depicted as full-length figures in front of a bushy backdrop framed on the left by the tree of knowledge. Eve holds a branch with her left hand and leans her bent right leg against the tree. She turns to Adam, who stands on her left and appears to bite into the apple that Eve holds out to him. He looks out of the painting and holds a branch, the leaves of which cover the figures private parts. His left hand rests on Eve's shoulder.
