Catherine: 'Cathedra honoris et glorie regina celoru[m] sublimate laudantem te clerum fave rege per secula' Barbara: 'Barbaro populo manna verum in tuo sanctissimo utero mater beatissima c[on]fecisti. Ora virgotuos ille pane celi dignos effici' [Exhib. Cat. Prague 2005, 28, No. 7a]
Description:
On the left St Catherine kneels, holding a tablet with a text of a prayer for clergy. St Barbara is on the right and can be identified by a chalice and a host with a text of a prayer for people. Fragmentary figures in the background can be identified as: St Dorothea on the left (by a basket of flowers), and St Margaret on the right with a dragon at her feet. The upper central part of the painting features parts originally belonging to Mary's dress and a golden background with a punched radial pattern originally framing her figure. The remnants of a garland of clouds with three heads of cherubs are visible between the saints. [Exhib. Cat. Prague 2005, No. 7a]
