The panel depicts three scenes from the Passion arranged vertically: in the upper field is a representation of the Flagellation, the central one called 'Ecce Homo' shows Christ before Pontius Pilate, while the lower field shows the Resurrection. At some stage the panel was split and the depiction of the Mother of Sorrows on the reverse is now an autonomous panel. Together they originally functioned as the right wing of a triptych.
