Reverse of the panel: a text printed on paper in two parts: 'Nach meines lieben bruders end Bleib auff mir das gantz Regimend. Mit grosser sorg vnd mancher fahr Da der Bawr toll vnd töricht war. Die auffruhr fast ynn allem land Wie gros fewer ym wald entbrand. Welches ich halff dempfen mit Gott Der Deutsches land erret aus not. Der Rottengeister feind ich war Hielt ym land das wort rein vnd klar. Gros dräwen: bittern hass vnd neid Vmb Gottes wort willen ich leid. Frey bekand ichs aus hertzem grund Vnd personlich selbst ich da stund. Vor dem Keisar vnd gantzen Reich Von Fursten gschach vor nie des gleich. Description:
The portrait triptych depicts the saxon electors Friedrich, Johann and Johann Friedrich. The exterior of the moveable wings show the acheivements of the sitters. This, the right wing is a half-length portrait of Johann Friedrich the Magnanimous, Elector of Saxony with hands, facing left against a blue background. His eyes, hair and beard are brown. His hair is cut very short. He wears a fur overcoat, a shirt with a gold coloured collar and decorated with pearls forming a repeat pattern with the letter 'S', the initial of his wife Sibylle of Cleve.
