He is wearing an expansive mantle over a laced shirt of which only the collar and sleeves are visible. His thinning brown hair recedes at the hairline and his slightly lighter beard ends in two strands under his chin. He holds a black hat in his hands.

On the reverse side [...], the whole surface is covered with black paint; the joint of the boards is fixed with a wooden strip, several cracks are fixed with wooden and canvas strips. Alongside the entire upper edge, the original boards are trimmed and covered with a wooden strip.
