Condition Reports

Date2018

Support:

  • on the reverse sanded down at the centre

  • there is a pine wood cradle attached to the reverse

Paint layers:

  • various large retouches in the background, small network of cracks

Varnish:

  • the painting has a glossy resin varnish, which was probably applied repeatedly with a brush. The strong fluorescence of this layer restricts the identification of retouches under UV light to a few relatively new ones.
