- Detailed drawing executed with a brush comprised of contours and cresent-shaped lines indicating the main elements within the forms, there are a few deviations from the underdrawing in the painted version for example the slightly enlarged head of Christ and the sketchy indication of stones and plants in the foreground.[1]

  • marks from a smoothing plane along the top and bottom edges

  • slight abrasion in the areas of raised craquellée

  • old, slightly yellowed varnish
