A serpent coils itself towards her out of the tree of knowledge, a section of which is shown at the left edge and leads over to the pendant panel showing Adam.

  • top right corner reconstructed, and reinforced with pieces of cloth

  • the fourth join has been reinforced with wooden inserts and wooden blocks were attached to the reverse

  • marks from the nails employed to fix the panel in its frame

Painted surface:

  • the panel is convexly warped on the front (1.5 cm)

  • some woodworm

  • retouches along the joins, in areas of prominent craquelée and particularly on Eve's leg

  • old, yellowed vanish
