Drawing material:

Technique:

- Detailed underdrawing executed with a brush, linear search for the outlines of shapes, the interior forms of the central group are indicated with hooks and crescents; corrections to the drawing and deviations from the painted version are particularly visible in the heads and wings of the angels, on God’s sash and the wings of the Holy Ghost. [1]

- further underdrawing: God the Father's globe, Christ's cross, God the Father's coat particularly along the bottom, Christ's loincloth, the outlines of the dove representing the Holy Spirit, the heads and wings of the putti - sometimes with different wing positions-, indication of clouds with broad brushstrokes, sketchy line in the sky on the right
